Prior to joining Regan in November 2025, Mr. Kim held senior roles in capital markets and structured credit. Most recently, he was a Capital Markets Director at Upstart, overseeing ABS securitizations and warehouse financing. He previously managed securitized products at Liberty Bankers Insurance Group and a $28 billion legacy non-agency mortgage portfolio at Freddie Mac. During the Great Financial Crisis, Mr. Kim served as a Director at BlackRock’s Financial Markets Advisory group where he directly managed over $120 billion in distressed mortgage bonds. Earlier, he also held roles at UBS Global Asset Management, PPM America, and AABN Amro Bank in Chicago. Mr. Kim holds a B.A. in Economics from Northwestern University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
